Alumina Based Catalysts
Alumina is widely used as basic material of catalytic support because of its high chemical inertness, strength and hardness. Alumina is an important material that can be prepared from bauxite or kaolin in several different phases. The most stable form of alumina is α-alumina, which is employed as a ceramic material. Other phases of alumina, known as transitional alumina are widely used as catalysts, catalytic supports or adsorbents. Among the transitional alumina, gamma-alumina is the most employed one for applications in catalysis and adsorption, because of its high surface area and good porosity parameters.

Copper-based catalysts are widely used in chemical industries to convert water and carbon monoxide to hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and methanol. These catalysts are important tools in industrial applications, including partial oxidation of methanol, synthesis of methanol and other derived fuels from CO2, and production of hydrogen.
Copper-Chromite Catalysts
The copper chromite is one of the most efficient materials, has wide commercial application as catalysts being used in the unit processes of organic synthesis such as hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, hydrogenolysis, oxidation, alkylation, cyclization, etc. It can be used in the pollution abatement as the catalyst to remove aqueous organic wastes, volatile organic compound (VOC) and vehicular primary emissions such as CO, unburned hydrocarbon, NOx and soot. In addition, it has been used in various composite solid propellants as one of the efficient combustions supporting catalysts [10] in the domain of space vehicles (rockets) and weapon industries (high explosives, ballistic missiles).
